There’s a story of how a waiter once became angry at John D. Rockefeller after J.D. left only a dollar as a tip. Supposedly Rockefeller replied “Because of such thinking, you’re only a waiter.”

More recently, Andre Agassi recalled in his new memoir how he and his trainer once made a bet about how big a tip Pete Sampras gave to a valet. About the $1.00 tip Agassi writes, “We could not be more different, Pete and I.”
